The date came days after Luca stormed out of the villa after telling Gemma to ‘f**k off’ during a heated argument which followed a sexy challenge.

Viewers appeared to be in agreement with Molly-Mae, as they took to Twitter to comment on how they thought the couple had ‘no chemistry’.

One person said: ‘The Gemma and Luca final date had to be the most miserable final date in Love Island history, they looked like they would rather be anywhere but there, no spark or chemistry.’

Another joked: ‘Someone said Gemma and Luca’s final date should’ve been an escape room and I’ve been dying ever since.’

A third wrote: ‘Luca and Gemma’s final date seems so forced… I’ve gone on better dates than this [confused face].’

Another person said: ‘I’m sorry but Gemma and Luca have no chemistry whatsoever. Their final date was awkward and difficult to watch.’

One person thought that editing to blame for the awkward atmosphere, and wrote: ‘I really blame the producers for the rep they’ve given Luca and Gemma as a couple.

‘Their final date was not boring. I can tell there was more to it. Why do they decide to show us nothing just so they can keep giving them this boring not interested vibe.’

However some saw the date in a different light, with one person writing: ‘I’ve been watching Gemma and Luca’s final date and I can’t stop smiling. I love their banter.’

During the date, Gemma reflected on their ‘banter’ as she told her partner Luca that she loves the bond they share.

While sat in the romantic courtyard, Gemma admitted that she ‘loves’ that they can ‘wind each other up’.

Taking their seats at a floating table in the pool of the courtyard, Luca said: ‘Did I actually think I’d meet someone like you that makes me want to move to the other side of England for? No.’

Gemma replied: ‘We are literally the same person, it’s crazy. We wind each other up. But we both love it.

‘You know I find it hard being lovey-dovey, but I feel like I’m quite more lovey-dovey with you than anyone really before… I always find myself gravitating towards you. I always want to be near you and in your company.’

Gemma’s revelation of ‘loving’ the ‘wind up’ banter between her and Luca came after the latter has been subject to a wave of controversy, with fans slamming him for displaying ‘toxic masculinity’.

Referencing his ‘childish’ behavior and ‘over-protective’ tendencies over Gemma, fans have been taking to social media to display their discomfort.
