Desperadas 2

Posted by nix On December - 29 - 2008

On Saturday, December 27, i met up with Anne and Karla in Gateway to watch Desperadas 2. Starring Ruffa Gutierrez, Rufa Mae Quinto, Iza Calzado, Marian Rivera and featuring Ogie Alcasid in a female role. Yes, a female role.

The movie is entertaining. Ogie was really funny and the ladies are beautiful and sexy. The storyline is fine, a little shallow, but still funny.

Halfway through the movie, we were distracted when someone from the fifth row kept taking pictures of the movie with her camera phone. I was itching to report her but i would miss the movie. So much for the theaters’ press release of having anti-piracy surveillance camera and undercover agents looking out for pirates. Not that she was a pirate, but it was unethical of her to take pictures inside the theater with the flash on! And she did it more or less 10 times. Karla said that if she wanted movie stills, she could easily Google and download the pictures.

Other MMFF1 movies i want to see are: Dayo, Iskul Bukol, and Shake, Rattle, and Roll 10.

  1. Metro Manila Film Fest []

For the past months, i have only been watching TV series, but since Friday, i have seen the following movies:

Normally, i would blog about them separately. But my movie reviews are too short and that if i saw multiple movies i should write them in one entry. Click on a movie poster above.

Forgotten Lands: The First Colony

Posted by nix On December - 14 - 2008

Forgotten Lands: First Colony, is a blend of RTS and time management game. You get to build structures, create units, and harvest materials you’ll need to do both. Each stage gives you a list of things to accomplish before time runs out. It’s a fun game which i enjoyed playing.

The yellow flags indicate that the stage was finished in expert time, which the red indicates the stage finished before the time ran out. You can also re-play a game you’ve finished to beat your previous score and time. There’s also 8 bonus stages.

Lucy’s Expedition

Posted by nix On December - 3 - 2008

Lucy’s Expedition is a time management games released by Real Arcade. I don’t know how long it took me to finish the game. It’s not all i do, you know. But this is a fun game where Lucy and her crew dig up sites in 6 different countries and exchange the relics to each of the countries’ museum curators’ in exchange for a piece of a map. The treasure map is of Atlantis, the last stage of the game.

Taylor Lautner is Jacob Black

Posted by nix On November - 26 - 2008

Why am i blogging so much about Twilight, when i haven’t read the novel nor seen the movie? Well, not only because it’s the “in” thing these days, I’m also interested in it so much especially since i like most of the actors in it.

Stupid as i am, i just realised that the guy playing Jacob Black is Taylor Lautner. He’s Sharkboy!1 And he’s also in Cheaper by the Dozen 2. Looking at the picture above, he has grown into a handsome man. And look at his abs! *counts* 8-packs!!

Twilight premiere

Posted by nix On November - 25 - 2008

Tonight was the premiere of Twilight. My cousins and our friend will be watching tonight. My churchmate, Ara, will absent from school tomorrow just to watch the movie, which in my opinion is bad. She’s still in high school.

Anyway, I liked Kristen Stewart since Panic Room, and she’s also been in movies like Zathura and In the Land of Women with Meg Ryan. She also had a cameo role in Jumper, as Diane Lane’s daughter.

I’m pleased that she was casted as Bella Swan. It’s a great break for her. I think she’s the hottest teen star at the moment because of the exposure Twilight is giving her.

I haven’t read the book. Though i was in Powerbooks earlier and found a hardbound copy and an open paperback of Twilight, so i read a few pages. And the role suits her, i think.

On the other hand, Robert Pattinson is very lucky too, to have been given the role of Edward Cullen. He starred as Cedric Diggory in a Harry Potter movie. A sad role too because he had to die.

He’s the crush of all Twilight fanatics out there, because, according to them, Edward Cullen is such a hottie, ergo, Robert is a hottie for playing the role. Even if he’s not, he’s still hot.

Another familiar face I saw in the trailer is Elizabeth Reaser. She’s Ava/Rebecca Pope in episodes of Grey’s Anatomy. She’s playing Esme Cullen in Twilight, and i have no idea at the moment who that is. But since she’s a Cullen, she’s a vampire!

Even if i haven’t read the novels, i’m still excited to see the movie. I’m such a movie buff. I plan to watch it, though i’m not sure when or who with. I might go alone, as usual, but i want to go when things have died down a little. I don’t want to go in with all the people coz i want good seats and enjoy the experience.

Madagascar 2: Escape to Africa

Posted by nix On November - 23 - 2008

I didn’t really plan to watch a movie,  though Madagascar 2 is on my movies to watch list. From school, i headed to Araneta Colliseum where the Ticketnet office was. I was going to buy tickets for the UP SAMASKOM LIVE A.I.D.S. show. Since i don’t often hang around that area, the only ticketing office i know off is on the green gate. No one was there and there was no guard around to inquire from.

I wanted to get home and rest because my back was killing me. But i didn’t want to return another day just for the tickets coz i might forget again and miss the show, so i thought that i might as well spend time and watch a movie.

I was thinking of “One True Love”, but i told myself long ago that i’d only watch movies in theaters if the movie was a blockbuster or something really good that i really, really loved. So i watched Madagascar 2 instead. I remember not watching the first one in the theaters coz i thought it was lame but i was wrong, i found out how hilarious it was when i had a DVD. I loved it.

UP SAMASKOM: LIVE A.I.D.S. SILVER

Posted by nix On November - 22 - 2008

The very first time i saw a “Live A.I.D.S.” show was in my freshman year. I forgot the details, but back then, we were entitled to 1 play per semester. My classmates/friends and I went to watch the play and had a really great time laughing our a**es off. Since they do that every year, i told myself that i’d watch out for future “LIVE A.I.D.S.”

I kept forgetting it until this year, when i heard it’s ad on the radio. I googled it right away1 and found details of the said play. Here’s the poster that’s all over the web:

Beyonce as Wonder Woman

Posted by nix On November - 9 - 2008

First, she wanted to change her stage name, now Beyonce is interested in playing Wonder Woman in the big screen. She thinks a black Wonder Woman would be so awesome. Sources: TMZ and The Superficial

I have no negative reactions to this one. I don’t mind anyone playing any super heroes. I liked Catwoman and Elektra despite the reports of the films flopping. I also like any other superhero movie, and Beyonce is one of my favorite artists, so i have nothing against her playing Wonder Woman.

Oh, i like her new single “If I were a Boy”, the message of the song is very powerful! I first heard about it from Krystle and i searched for the song in YouTube the other night. Luuuuurved it!

Pugs Halloween

Posted by nix On November - 8 - 2008

Totally forgot to post this one. Rememer my post about the headdresses mom bought for our pugs? Well, the next week, she brought home t-shirts to go with the headdress! I failed to blog about it because i was so busy back then and now i can’t find the pictures. LOL

Anyway, on Halloween, we had bonding dinner with my uncle’s family, and with the church caretakers’ family. We had so much fun plus i dressed the boys for Halloween and everyone loved it. I’m just here to share the pictures. Enjoy!
