Obesity is a major problem almost everywhere. I googled the statistics and here are the results:
- 58 Million Overweight; 40 Million Obese; 3 Million morbidly Obese
- Eight out of 10 over 25’s Overweight
- 78% of American’s not meeting basic activity level recommendations
- 25% completely Sedentary
- 76% increase in Type II diabetes in adults 30-40 yrs old since 1990
And this statistics came from USA Obesity Statistics for Adults and Children. That is in the U.S. alone. In the Philippines, the number of overweight people is increasing because of unhealthy life styles. People are now conscious with their figures and a lot of weight loss systems are offered to help these people.
I for one need to lose weight. Though i sometimes lose the inches, the weight is still the same. I have been overweight since i was young. And i wasn’t a fat kid. My body fat when i was 8 years old was only 4%, and i was overweight for my age and height. I have big bones and muscles. I only got fat when i got in college. And i’m not even that fat, not like the girl in Shallow Hal.
