Friday Flicks: SATC and Another Cinderella Story

Posted by nix On September - 26 - 2008

Sex and the City. I don’t know what i was thinking! LOL. Out of curiosity i downloaded it last Monday and watched it. I’ve read some reviews about the movie which said that the movie is just like the TV show only longer. And longer it was! It was the longest two-and-a-half hours of my life!

It was ok. Though Sarah Jessica Parker looked like a hag, Kim Cattrall IS old, and Cynthia Nixon looks haggard. On the plus side, Kristin Davis may be old but she’s still hot! Oh by the way, Mr. Big isn’t that good looking anymore. He’s old and his eyebrows were horrible. He looked gay with them.

I cried when Carrie was heartbroken from when Mr. Big didn’t show up for their wedding. I totally felt it, like i was the bride and the love of my life left me at the altar. Aaw…

The only other good thing i liked in the movie is that Jennifer Hudson was there!

Just today i watched Another Cinderella Story starring Selena Gomez. It was totally another Cinderella story. Same story, different names, and somewhat different situations.

I didn’t know that Selena Gomez could dance so well. I wish she could have danced more. The only scene, with her dancing, that i appreciated was the one in the studio. The dance at the end part wasn’t as much.

I think she’s pretty. She looks really young for age too. She’s 16 and she looks like she’s only 12. I hope she’s a good kid and won’t do anything stupid.

Pirates of the Carribean 4

Posted by nix On September - 26 - 2008

There’s a rumor that Johnny Depp is coming back for the Pirates of the Carribean 4. I searched in Imdb.com and didn’t find anything about a fourth installment on the pirates movie but i’m not against it. I simply love Pirates of the Carribean and i could watch the movies over and over. Though i thought At World’s End was the last installment.

I have seen a lot of Johnny Depp in the past years and i’m loving him more every time.

Friday Flicks: For The First Time and My Sassy Girl

Posted by nix On September - 12 - 2008

I have been wanting to see For The First Time ever since i heard about it and saw it’s trailer. I love Richard Gutierrez and KC Concepcion. They’re both my crushes and they look good together. I was going to wait for the DVD release but on Tuesday, i just couldn’t help myself and went ahead and saw the movie.

What can i say about it? Hmm.. It was a pretty good movie. KC is a good actress, just like her mom. Richard is so hot! I miss him already. LOL. The storyline was good, it doesn’t end in they met, they fall in love, and that’s it. The movie showed that the relationship wasn’t perfect, and there were obstacles to overcome and they had to face problems. But in the end, they still ended up together.

I found the script a little too much though. They had to say their full names frequently which i think was stupid. You don’t really do that in real life. Or if you do, you don’t say it all the time. It is also a slow paced movie. Half-way through it i felt like it was taking too long to finish, not that i was in a hurry for it to end, but it was taking too long.

Oh, lastly, Philip Salvador as KC’s dad is not believable. Hindi bagay. They could have casted KC’s real dad, Gabby Concepcion, or someone else who’d make it work.

The US version to the Korean movie My Sassy Girl, was not that bad, but wasn’t as good as the original either. Elisha Cuthbert is very pretty, she did well with the role but i think they could have gotten someone who would fit the character more.

The movie was funny, I’ll have to see the original version again to make more comparisons.

I rate this movie 6 out of 10.

Project 365: Days 4, 5, 6, & 7

Posted by nix On August - 8 - 2008

I failed to blog Project 365: Day 4 & 5 when i was last online. So now here I am with 4 pictures! I was offline for 2 days because i busied myself with DVDs.

Anyway, Day 4 features the DVDs i bought. Both movies and collections. I also bought “The Notebook” but forgot to include it in the photo. Day 5 is Kendo sleeping on top of me. He’s just so sweet. Day 6 is Kendo once again, eating an ice cream. He didn’t eat the whole bar, i just saved him a couple of licks. Day 7 is Mom and Kendo. Mom looks really beautiful in this shot that’s why i chose it. Have fun!

Johnny Depp in New Batman Movie

Posted by nix On August - 3 - 2008

Just after my post about Johnny Depp playing as the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton’s version of Alice in Wonderland, he is now rumored to be a villain in the next Batman movie.

From Damn I’m Cute:

Rumor has it that he is being offered the role as the Riddler. We can recall that Jim Carrey played the last Riddler in 1995. But the new Batman movies have a darker sense to them, less neon lights-so there is a fat chance that Depp’s character will have a deeper character.

If the rumors are true, then it’s another movie i can’t wait to see. I’m very sure Johnny Depp would be great for the part.

Johnny Depp in Alice in Wonderland

Posted by nix On July - 31 - 2008

Johnny Depp is playing the Mad hatter in Tim Burton ta’s version of Alice in Wonderland. Apparently, Burton has had ideas on the classic story even before he was famous. From Australia News Limited

“Tim has had designs on Alice in Wonderland since before he was famous. He has a knack for turning what seems like stories for just kids into gripping, spooky fables loved just as much by adults.”

The movie is planned to be released on 2010. Another Johnny Depp flick to watch out for.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince trailer

Posted by nix On July - 31 - 2008

The latest installment for the Harry Potter movie has released it’s first trailer.

It’s not much now, but i’m hoping the movie would “WOW” me when i see it on it’s release. I still say that they should have made each book a 2 or 3 part film. The previous films made were beautiful but i still feel that there was definitely lacking in the stories. People who haven’t read the book are lost in some parts because some of the important details weren’t translated in the films. The worst for me was Prisoner of Azkaban. It was too short, and too many details were missing.

The thickness of the books from number 4 to 7 should be sliced to 2 or 3 parts. They’re so long and there are so many details to the story to make it work. But i guess having a single book on production is expensive, let alone have it done in 2 parts.

I want to read all the books again. I can’t wait for the release of this flick. The trailer said this year. I’m thinking December? Did they previously release an HP movie on December?

Forbidden Kingdom

Posted by nix On July - 30 - 2008

Movie plot from IMDb: A discovery made by a kung fu obsessed American teen sends him on an adventure to China, where he joins up with a band of martial arts warriors in order to free the imprisoned Monkey King.

Starring Jet Li, Jackie Chan, and Michael Angarano.

The fight scenes were awesome! Especially the ones between Jet Li and Jackie Chan. The white-haired “witch” looked cool. I loved the hair. Golden Sparrow was kind of cute in her own way, she also talked in the third person.

I felt bad for the boy’s character when he was being taught how to fight, at the same time, it was so cool that that boy knows kung fu in real life, or at least he was taught how to do a few moves.

Martial arts should only be used for self-defense and not for revenge. I wish i knew any martial art.

Mama’s Boy

Posted by nix On July - 30 - 2008

Starring Jon Heder, Diane Keaton, Jeff Daniels, and Anna Faris. The story is about a 29-year-old slacker still living with his mother who realizes that his “perfect” set-up will be ruined when his mom re-marries.

It was kind of funny, i didn’t laugh much. It reminds us to think about others before ourselves, especially when it comes to our loved ones. And also, when you’re old enough to care for yourself, get a life. :haha:

My rating: 6 out of 10
