It has been months, or maybe a year, since I’ve been infected with a spyware. I’ve had the rare opportunity of even getting a virus since I’ve had so many experiences in getting them via downloading malicious contents when i didn’t know better. And then last night, i was victimized.

It has only been 3 weeks since i reformatted my PC because i felt that everything is out of place and I felt that I’d have the hard drive space i needed if i did reformat. And so, i just finished reformatting again. I’m quite happy now because I’m restarting all over again. Another clean slate, plus i had everything backed-up unlike 8 years ago when i barely knew anything about my PC.

Ironically, this incident happened right after my cousin installed a new anti-virus. Doesn’t that just suck? But it doesn’t matter, now i am sure i won’t be victimized in the near future.

Due to the hot weather, mom has decided to spend our days and afternoons at church; in the area near the river. And with the spacious area, the pugs can run when they feel like it. It’s cool because we get to spend time with the Evia Family and my uncle’s family. We chat, play, and watch DVD’s.

With that “busy” schedule, i managed to reformat my PC and i even brought it with me one Saturday afternoon in church where i installed Tomb Raider: Anniversary and played while the younger kids where watching and looking out for possible things i missed. It was frustrating at first because my monitor wouldn’t cooperate. It would blink and then i would restart the system and check if everything was plugged in well. I didn’t know what was going on. Someone suggested that it might have been caused by someone who shook the table. I really thought it was the monitor or the video card but after a few minutes of trying things out it was finally working.

I brought the PC back home that night because there was something that needed to be done and it was Sunday the next day which means there would be a lot of people and kids would be there. You know how kids are annoying sometimes. They’re curious little people.

Anyway, i set up the PC Monday morning only to find it blinking again, i was desperate. To make the long story short, i consulted with JJ and he suggested that it must be the memory card. And my brain was all “WTF?! how could that be? my memory card is 8 months new!” So then i sent a text message to the technician where we bought the card and he told me to bring the memory card along with the receipt and he’ll check it out. For one thing, i HAVE to find that receipt. It’s here somewhere, i just don’t know where.

Right now i am using the CPU of one of the PC sets we have in the shop. We’re closed at the moment (we’ll be relocating the shop). I took the 256mb RAM from the other computer for this unit to have 512mb RAM. But this unit’s speed is only 1.5Ghz while my CPU has 2.4Ghz. This unit has only 32mb VGA while mine has 64mb, which i need to upgrade for more games! Also, i can’t install and transfer stuff from my back-up because this unit won’t accept my DVD writer. :oh:

I was surfing the web, reading articles and web pages when i came across the word ergonomics. It’s the first time i’ve heard of this word and so i searched for it on dictionary.com, and according to them:

  1. (used with a sing. verb) The applied science of equipment design, as for the workplace, intended to maximize productivity by reducing operator fatigue and discomfort. Also called biotechnology, human engineering, human factors engineering.
  2. (used with a pl. verb) Design factors, as for the workplace, intended to maximize productivity by minimizing operator fatigue and discomfort: The ergonomics of the new office were felt to be optimal.

Ergoware.com is a company that manufactures, imports, and distributes office and computer ergonomics products. I looked around their web site and their company is all about comfort and productivity in the home or office space.

If you’re like me, who spends countless hours browsing, surfing, and typing, computer ergonomics would really be a great help to reduce fatigue, discomfort, and a stress disorder such as CTS1. This has really got my interest and i would definitely check out these products. I don’t want to end up having CTS.

Laptop story

I have had a computer since i was nine years old. I was considered lucky because i was the first in our school to have my very own personal computer. My mom was earning big back then and she thought it would be nice to have a computer to help me in my studies. I was not allowed to play games in it except the educational ones like Encarta, which had some games in it like trivias, and there was one named The Animals which features animals and their description, some had sounds too. Another educational game i had was about an Alien. I forgot what it was, but it has coloring and games that a kid would really learn from. I also had a geographical game. I think it was called Nigel’s something. It was my favorite of all because it was like Dora or something. LOL. I can’t really remember much except that i really, really loved using the computer.

This PC that i have is the third set I’ve had. When i graduated from high school my mom promised to get me a laptop because it was ideal for me and i really think that it would inspire me to “study”. Unfortunately, something happened that caused my mom’s suspension from work. She didn’t really do anything bad but someone was going against her and it’s really a long story.

Anyway, despite our financial crisis, i was able to save up to $1200 in 2005. Back then the laptop that i wanted cost around $1800-$2000. I was nearing my goal, i was so close to having a laptop. But that year was tough for us, and mom had to some of my savings to invest in a small business. She would get it back easily anyway. Then that year she also brought me to Jakarta, Indonesia. We brought $300 from my savings and i was hesitant to spend at first but then she gave me the go signal to shop since she said we would get the money back. But money problems grew bigger and i had to give up my dreams of having a laptop. I’m ok with it because this time, i’ll be saving money through what i do and be able to purchase a laptop for myself and maybe even for my mom.

That’s my laptop story.

A couple of months ago, I signed up for PayPerPost. I have been reading about it in different blogs that are into blog advertising, and i thought, there’s no harm in trying, right? I heard the pay is good and there are lots of opportunities. I was rejected twice before I was finally accepted for the program.

Now that i was accepted, I can’t wait to earn and save enough money for a laptop. It’s what i’ve always wanted. Then maybe buy stuff for my pug, Kendo, whom we love so much. Like clothes and carriers, or food. And of course, I’d also purchase gadgets. I’m thinking of getting an iPod or PSP, or whatever I could gets my hands into that I could afford. I’d also look for shoes! Because I have big feet and I find it hard to look for shoes in my size, I’d often resort to buying men’s shows instead.

I think most of my blog roll is into PPP. Some have been earning money for months now, and some are trying to earn more! I do hope I would be able to take more opportunities and earn more money. So I could buy more stuff!
