I have had a computer since i was nine years old. I was considered lucky because i was the first in our school to have my very own personal computer. My mom was earning big back then and she thought it would be nice to have a computer to help me in my studies. I was not allowed to play games in it except the educational ones like Encarta, which had some games in it like trivias, and there was one named The Animals which features animals and their description, some had sounds too. Another educational game i had was about an Alien. I forgot what it was, but it has coloring and games that a kid would really learn from. I also had a geographical game. I think it was called Nigel’s something. It was my favorite of all because it was like Dora or something. LOL. I can’t really remember much except that i really, really loved using the computer.
This PC that i have is the third set I’ve had. When i graduated from high school my mom promised to get me a laptop because it was ideal for me and i really think that it would inspire me to “study”. Unfortunately, something happened that caused my mom’s suspension from work. She didn’t really do anything bad but someone was going against her and it’s really a long story.
Anyway, despite our financial crisis, i was able to save up to $1200 in 2005. Back then the laptop that i wanted cost around $1800-$2000. I was nearing my goal, i was so close to having a laptop. But that year was tough for us, and mom had to some of my savings to invest in a small business. She would get it back easily anyway. Then that year she also brought me to Jakarta, Indonesia. We brought $300 from my savings and i was hesitant to spend at first but then she gave me the go signal to shop since she said we would get the money back. But money problems grew bigger and i had to give up my dreams of having a laptop. I’m ok with it because this time, i’ll be saving money through what i do and be able to purchase a laptop for myself and maybe even for my mom.
That’s my laptop story.

naalala ko tuloy ang word star, windows 3.0 and dot matrix printers. apple pa ang tawag sa mac noon—wow nagkaron na pala ako ng MAC akalain mo yon haha! ako yata sa high school batch namin ang unang nagsubmit ng computerized project haha! i remember it’s about mathematicians. and then ako rin ang isa sa mga unang nagkaron ng internet sa high school batch namin. nyahaha!
so all in all i’ve had 5 desktop pc’s na pala as far as i can recall. and then an APPLE computer haha! and now, may laptop na rin dahil galing sa company ng papa ko. wow na-trace ko bigla ang geek history ko, binuking ko sarili ko nyahaha

naalala ko yan jakarta trip mo. yun nasa bathtub ka *hehehe* tapos sa plane, meron kang pix with paeng nepomuceno ba yun? tama ba ako? tapos white yun outfit mo…
save more for laptop. gusto ko din ng laptop… yun apple *hehehe* kaya lang mahal. parang di ko naman talaga kailangan. i only yun my pc for emailing, chatting and blogging. saka uploading photos. pagtyagaan ko na lang siguro ‘tong pc. i can always upgrade it naman. right now, i’m happy kasi unlimited cable plan ako.

nagkalaptop na ako pero not the laptop that i want. yung gusto ko talaga ngayon yung IMAC. kahit malaki bahala na. nacucute-an ako kasi ang puti tas malaki. rawr. anyway, hopefully magkalaptop ka na din one of these days at ako magkaIMAC. ja ne!
