Muzikistah.com

not just a music blog

a matter of perspective..

Posted by nix On July - 13 - 2007

This is really fascinating. I got this from an e-mail from my previous professor. It’s rather dazzling to see it presented this way. Expand the screen and click the images for full view.

Wasn’t that enlightning?
But guess what..
there’s still more beyond our sun.
It’s a big universe!

Antares is the 15th brightest star in the sky.
It is more than 1,000 light years away.
Now how big are you?

Now TRY to wrap your mind around this……..

This is a Hubble Telescope Ultra Deep Field Infrared View of
countless ‘ENTIRE’ Galaxies Billions of Light-Years Away.

Below is a close up of one of the darkest regions of the photo above.

Humbling, isn’t it?

Now How Big Are You?
And how big are the things that upset you today?

Shudder! I always find those things terrifying… I don’t like to think of everything as being that tiny! But maybe we’re not tiny, everything else is just huge… Hmmm.. makes my head hurt, all that.

Pictures like that always make me feel incredibly tiny, but I always find them fascinating anyway. It’s totally different reading about the differences in size; Comparing the planets and stars through images makes it all seem much more real.
