Dorian Gray
One of the movies i watched before the end of 2009, Dorian Gray first caught my interest when a friend posted about it in plurk. I then remembered the movie LXG, Dorian Gray was in it too.
Dorian Gray is a man who never grows old. I was curious when i first heard about him, as to how is this possible, his life story and secret is revealed in this movie. He was a simple man, who moved to his grandfather’s house after he died. He became best friends with Lord Henry Wotton, who teaches him about life, and Basil Hallward, who painted his portrait. He fell in love with the actress Sybil Vane, and got engaged after months of dating.
The nice, simple Dorian was no more when he got corrupted after absorbing everything Henry taught him. That’s when he noticed the change in his painting, he remained unharmed, and he still looked like the handsome young man in the painting. His painting, however, looked like he needed a mesothelioma lawyer. I’m still intrigued as to what his painting became, they didn’t show it in the near end of the film.
Starring Colin Firth, Ben Chaplin, Rachel Hurd-Wood, Rebecca Hall, and Ben Barnes as Dorian Gray.
