The Stepfather

Michael Harding returns home from military school to find his mother happily in love and living with her new boyfriend, David. As the two men get to know each other, Michael becomes more and more suspicious of the man who is always there with a helpful hand. Is he really the man of her dreams or could David be hiding a dark side?

This looks promising, it’s Dan Humphrey! or Penn Badgley in real life. Imdb.com has it categorized as a horror/thriller film, and i think it’s a remake. It was released on October 16, though i have not heard of it shown locally. Judging from the trailer, the stepdad turns out to be a bad guy, who may or may not have killed before. I wonder if they have low cost health insurance from all the beating they received?

Aside from Badgley, also starring Dylan Walsh, Sela Ward, and Amber Heard.
