Janina San Miguel resigns as Bb. Pilipinas World

Posted by nix On September - 30 - 2008

If you have no idea who Janina San Miguel is, then i suggest you watch this video of her in the Bb. Pilipinas pageant.

She won Bb. Pilipinas World, in which she is to represent the country in t he coming 2008 Ms. World pageant. Her winning the title is probably still questionable to some, but given a few months before the pageant, she could still practice her English. But, come on, how do you expect her to represent the Philippines if she can’t represent herself properly? In my opinion, it would have been a disgrace if she pursued the pageant.

Fortunately, she resigned as Bb. Pilipinas World due to personal reasons. From GMA News:

“The untimely demise of her grandfather, among other personal reasons, has caused her undue stress, thus hindering her from fulfilling her duties for the said title,” the BPCI statement read.

I’m guessing “other personal reasons” may mean she’s pregnant or something. LOL. I am SO mean. But think about it, there’s a probability, right? Or it could simply be because she got cold feet.

Anyway, replacing Janina San Miguel is 1st Runner-Up Danielle Castaño.

pimp my ride

Posted by nix On September - 30 - 2008

Well, i don’t have a ride but a friend of mine has and he was telling me that he needs a new air conditioning compressor. I know what air conditioning is, but i have no idea what the compressor is. So once again i did a little research and here’s what i found out, the compressor along with the condenser are usually located on the outside air portion of the air conditioner. That’s it. I told you it was a little research. Hahaha. :D

Well anyway, if you happen to be in need of such compressor, you can head to www.discountcompressor.com.

Barbados!

Posted by nix On September - 30 - 2008

I came across this beautiful island in the Caribbean. I found it online of course, while surfing for beach resorts or islands. I’m pretending i’m rich and that i could go wherever i want.

Anyway, It’s the island of Barbados. It’s the first time I’ve heard about it so i searched in Wikipedia. I was curious to were it was located and according to WIki, Barbados, situated just east of the Caribbean Sea, is an independent island nation in the western Atlantic Ocean. Cool huh?

So i checked out Barbados villa rentals and you’re seeing one in the picture above. Isn’t it beautiful? It’s now added to my mental list of places to go to when i get rich. Hahaha!

Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds wed

Posted by nix On September - 29 - 2008

Here’s another couple i didn’t know about. Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds were married this weekend in Canada.

Attended by only a handful of close friends and family, the ceremony was held at a remote wilderness retreat outside of Vancouver, B.C.

You can read the whole report in People.

Pugad Baboy and The Shack

Posted by nix On September - 28 - 2008

The other day, my class ended early and i called mom to tell her about it. She asked me to run an errand, which i did, but the rain poured while i was walking and so i headed to Shangri-La. I was stranded and i decided to waste my time in my favorite place, Powerbooks. I looked around, found some interesting books. There were lots of books that caught my attention and i would love to read them but i just don’t have the time. I have over a dozen books at home that has to be read before i go off and buy new ones. But i just can’t help it! One way or another i’d end up buying a book or two, and they’d end up in the bookshelf to rot before they’re opened.

And then, i noticed one of the shelves, holding a copy of the latest issue off Pugad Baboy comics! Woot! 20th book! I so love this comic because it’s witty funny. It always have me laughing my ass off even in the strangest places. People would look at me because i’m laughing while reading my copy of the book. LOL.

I was still reading it at home. But i didn’t get to finish it because i had mom bring it with her in Vancouver so she won’t get bored and has something to laugh about. I’ll finish it when she gets home.

I also bought The Shack, it wasn’t in my intention to purchase anything other than Pugas Baboy 20 but i did buy The Shack because of the mystery in it’s story.

The back page reads:

Mackenzie Allen Philiips’s youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later, in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious nore, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend.

Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change Mack’s world forever.

In a world where religion seems to grow increasingly irrelevant THE SHACK wrestles with the timeless question, “Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain?” The answer Mack gets will astound you and perhaps transform you as much as it did him. You’ll want everyone you know to read this book!

I don’t know what got me to buy this book but i just felt like buying it. I’ll read it when my schedule clears a little.

I’m a NUFFNANGer

Posted by nix On September - 28 - 2008

logologo.jpg I recently joined Nuffnang. If i remember correctly, that was last week only.

Why i joined? I was curious. I have seen their banner on the majority of the blogsites i visited. One time i clicked the banner and read about Nuffnang.

Nuffnang is Asia’s first blog advertising network. That’s what’s cool about it, it’s local! It first served in Malaysia and Singapore, and now, it has arrived in the Philippines!

I also found out today that i was eligible for Glitterati. It is a club exclusive for Nuffnang bloggers. It’s an automatic eligibility for not being a part of any other blog advertising network in South East Asia. Nuffnang Glitterati members get more benefits than non-exclusive members. Isn’t that cool?

If you’re interested, sign-up is easy! You just head to their website, www.nuggnang.com.ph and click on the sign-up online and fill up the form.

I can’t wait for the program to begin. I heard it’s this October. ;)

Friday Flicks: SATC and Another Cinderella Story

Posted by nix On September - 26 - 2008

Sex and the City. I don’t know what i was thinking! LOL. Out of curiosity i downloaded it last Monday and watched it. I’ve read some reviews about the movie which said that the movie is just like the TV show only longer. And longer it was! It was the longest two-and-a-half hours of my life!

It was ok. Though Sarah Jessica Parker looked like a hag, Kim Cattrall IS old, and Cynthia Nixon looks haggard. On the plus side, Kristin Davis may be old but she’s still hot! Oh by the way, Mr. Big isn’t that good looking anymore. He’s old and his eyebrows were horrible. He looked gay with them.

I cried when Carrie was heartbroken from when Mr. Big didn’t show up for their wedding. I totally felt it, like i was the bride and the love of my life left me at the altar. Aaw…

The only other good thing i liked in the movie is that Jennifer Hudson was there!

Just today i watched Another Cinderella Story starring Selena Gomez. It was totally another Cinderella story. Same story, different names, and somewhat different situations.

I didn’t know that Selena Gomez could dance so well. I wish she could have danced more. The only scene, with her dancing, that i appreciated was the one in the studio. The dance at the end part wasn’t as much.

I think she’s pretty. She looks really young for age too. She’s 16 and she looks like she’s only 12. I hope she’s a good kid and won’t do anything stupid.

Grey’s Anatomy season 4 premiere

Posted by nix On September - 26 - 2008

I saved a note on my cellphone calendar that Grey’s Anatomy’s 4th season will be aired today. Just like what i did with Heroes and Supernatural. I got a hold of the 2-hour premiere on torrent right away.

I so love Grey’s Anatomy. I’m not even into the doctor/surgeon stuff but i loved the comedy and drama of the show. As usual, the episode’s first half was comedic and then i cried my eyes off at the end. And i still love it.

I have learned things from this show too, which is a total plus. Not just with love and life, but as well with the medical issues encountered in the show.

I’m just happy the gang’s back.

Must Read: A Very Inspiring Story

Posted by nix On September - 26 - 2008

My mom sent this to my e-mail. She got it from a colleague. It is truly an inspiring story and i encourage you to share this with everyone. :)

His name is Faith!
This dog was born on Christmas Eve in the year 2002. He was born with 3 legs - 2 healthy hind legs and 1 abnormal front leg which needed to be amputated. He, of course, could not walk when he was born. Even his mother did not want him.

Pirates of the Carribean 4

Posted by nix On September - 26 - 2008

There’s a rumor that Johnny Depp is coming back for the Pirates of the Carribean 4. I searched in Imdb.com and didn’t find anything about a fourth installment on the pirates movie but i’m not against it. I simply love Pirates of the Carribean and i could watch the movies over and over. Though i thought At World’s End was the last installment.

I have seen a lot of Johnny Depp in the past years and i’m loving him more every time.

casino souvenir

Posted by nix On September - 26 - 2008

Mom has been flying to Canada and she has told me about her stay there. They go to this particular casino and they get $5 coupons they could exchange and use to play. She plays slots but is not addicted to it. She plays for fun.

One time i found the drawer with lots of promotional pens from the casino. They were given by one of the staffs whom mom became friends with. It’s really handy for when we need a pen and can’t find any, we’ll just open the drawer and, voila! pens galore.

I have 2 with me, one in my bag, the other clipped in my small notebook. They’re blue inks, though i prefer black ink. But it’s ok, it gets the job done.
