Johnny Depp in Alice in Wonderland

Posted by nix On July - 31 - 2008

Johnny Depp is playing the Mad hatter in Tim Burton ta’s version of Alice in Wonderland. Apparently, Burton has had ideas on the classic story even before he was famous. From Australia News Limited

“Tim has had designs on Alice in Wonderland since before he was famous. He has a knack for turning what seems like stories for just kids into gripping, spooky fables loved just as much by adults.”

The movie is planned to be released on 2010. Another Johnny Depp flick to watch out for.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince trailer

Posted by nix On July - 31 - 2008

The latest installment for the Harry Potter movie has released it’s first trailer.

It’s not much now, but i’m hoping the movie would “WOW” me when i see it on it’s release. I still say that they should have made each book a 2 or 3 part film. The previous films made were beautiful but i still feel that there was definitely lacking in the stories. People who haven’t read the book are lost in some parts because some of the important details weren’t translated in the films. The worst for me was Prisoner of Azkaban. It was too short, and too many details were missing.

The thickness of the books from number 4 to 7 should be sliced to 2 or 3 parts. They’re so long and there are so many details to the story to make it work. But i guess having a single book on production is expensive, let alone have it done in 2 parts.

I want to read all the books again. I can’t wait for the release of this flick. The trailer said this year. I’m thinking December? Did they previously release an HP movie on December?

Here’s something.. According to Australia News Limited

HAYDEN Panettiere performed a surprise striptease on her boyfriend Milo Ventimiglia’s birthday.

The Heroes actress donned a special raunchy cheerleader outfit and treated her co-star, who turned 31, by gyrating in front of him, before whipping off the costume to reveal sexy red lingerie. A source said: “Hayden gave Milo an unforgettable birthday surprise by morphing from her bouncy cheerleader character in Heroes to a bump-and-grind striptease. As she sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to Milo in front of cast and crew during lunch she ripped off the costume to show off her sexy red lingerie. Milo’s face went bright red.”

Ok, so they’re dating. Age doesn’t matter, i know. But giving your boyfriend a surprise striptease in front of a whole lot of other people isn’t right. Even if they’re the cast and crew of your famous TV show. That’s only my opinion.

Forbidden Kingdom

Posted by nix On July - 30 - 2008

Movie plot from IMDb: A discovery made by a kung fu obsessed American teen sends him on an adventure to China, where he joins up with a band of martial arts warriors in order to free the imprisoned Monkey King.

Starring Jet Li, Jackie Chan, and Michael Angarano.

The fight scenes were awesome! Especially the ones between Jet Li and Jackie Chan. The white-haired “witch” looked cool. I loved the hair. Golden Sparrow was kind of cute in her own way, she also talked in the third person.

I felt bad for the boy’s character when he was being taught how to fight, at the same time, it was so cool that that boy knows kung fu in real life, or at least he was taught how to do a few moves.

Martial arts should only be used for self-defense and not for revenge. I wish i knew any martial art.

Mama’s Boy

Starring Jon Heder, Diane Keaton, Jeff Daniels, and Anna Faris. The story is about a 29-year-old slacker still living with his mother who realizes that his “perfect” set-up will be ruined when his mom re-marries.

It was kind of funny, i didn’t laugh much. It reminds us to think about others before ourselves, especially when it comes to our loved ones. And also, when you’re old enough to care for yourself, get a life. :haha:

My rating: 6 out of 10

Bench Blackout Denim and Underwear show

Posted by nix On July - 29 - 2008

i totally forgot to blog about the event. Better late than never, right?

If i haven’t mention it yet, i was accompanied by my good friend and mentor, Kuya Benj to the said event. We had to hide our digicams because it wasn’t allowed inside. Before Benj and I took our cameras out, we made sure that we weren’t the only ones. That night i concluded that Filipinos do not follow rules, and i was one of them.

It was hard to take pictures because the models were moving around and i had no flash on since there were lights on stage. I was lucky enough with some of the pictures..

Brain Damaging Habits

Evolution of Dance: Pinoy Version by Vhong Navarro

Posted by nix On July - 25 - 2008

I wrote a post about the Evolution of Dance video i found on YouTube a few days back. And received a comment from Felisa that Vhong Navarro has made his own version and it has a pinoy feel to it. So i searched for it and here it is:

Vhong is a great dancer. He’s better than his back-up dancers. You’d see some get lost in the sequence of the songs. Funny.

Victory Party for Pacman

Posted by nix On July - 25 - 2008

The victory party was hosted by Gov. Chavit Singson and my mom was invited1 when she called him a couple of days before the event. She asked if she could bring me too so that i could meet Manong Chavit and Manny. Times like these makes me proud to be my mother’s daughter.

We kinda got lost at first but arrived at the venue just in time. People were already there and everyone was waiting for Manny to arrive so we could start dinner already. LOL. There was a band playing to keep the audience entertained then there was also a magician who was pretty good.

Once again i met local celebrities. Let’s see, i’ll just post the pictures and they should speak for themselves. :)
